New Horizon Exploration and
Production Limited is a regional
E&P company, with activities in
Pakistan and Tajikistan.
NHEPL strives to be a highly
professional and technical
company.
NHEPL is registered in Pakistan
and started its operations on
October 16, 2006. NHEPL was awarded
its first exploration license,
Kunri Block, by the Government
of Pakistan on June 5, 2007 and
the second exploration license,
Jherruck Block, on January 31,
2008. In June 2011 the company
entered into a Production
Sharing Agreement for Sulduzy
Field in Tajikistan
with Hassan & Company.
In Pakistan, NHEPL is joined by
multinational joint venture
partners like Pakistan Petroleum
Limited (PPL) and Kuwait Energy
Company (KEC). NHEPL has
acquired substantial 2D data and
has identified several prospects
at Jherruck and Kunri Blocks.
The company has drilled two
wells to date with a gas
discovery in one of them. NHEPL
has over 3200 sq. km. of
exploration acreage under
license in Pakistan. Plans
exist to acquire additional
exploration blocks in the near
future.
In Tajikistan, NHEPL is working
with Hassan & Company to improve
recovery from partially
developed Sulduzy field.
This field is located in
Tajik-Afghan Basin and has
produced mostly oil from Bokhara
Formation. Significant gas
reserve upside also exists in
deeper horizon.
NHEPL’s in-house expertise
covers full spectrum of the E&P
activities including geology,
geophysics, operations, HSE,
reservoir engineering, drilling,
procurement, project management,
legal and IT. In addition, NHEPL
is being managed by professional
managers with extensive
international management
experience in the E&P sector.
