Irfan Nadeem
Chairman
Irfan Nadeem is an expert in tax reforms and
management with specialization in organizational
skills and restructuring. He is a senior retired
civil servant and has also been actively associated
with entities promoting educational excellence in
Pakistan.
During his service with the Government of
Pakistan, Mr. Nadeem served as (a) Federal
Secretary-Ministry of Science and Technology, (b)
Director General, Pakistan Standards and Quality
Control Authority, (c) Deputy/Acting
Chairman-National Accountability Bureau (d)
Additional Director General, Economic Crimes
Wing-Federal Investigation Agency and (e) Member
Inland Revenue FBR apart from various field
positions in Income Tax. Mr. Nadeem also served as a
member of the governing body of the Higher Education
Commission, COMSATS, NUST apart from being the
Chairman Board of Governors of Commecs Institute for
nearly 14 years.
Mr. Nadeem holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and
Commerce from the University of Karachi. While
serving the Government of Pakistan, he attended
specialized training programs such as the Executive
Leadership Development Program in Honors category
from the JFK School of Government, Harvard
University, Cambridge, USA, Advance Management for
Senior Tax Officials at Lincoln, England,
International Taxation in Tokyo, Japan, National
Management Course from PASC Lahore and an Advance
Course in Administration and Development from NIPA,
Karachi |

Muzaffar Ali Shah Bukhari
Director
Muzaffar is the Managing Director
of KASB Group. Currently he is involved in
restructuring the KASB Bank. He led the efforts for
regional expansion and was responsible for setting
up the joint venture in Saudi Arabia. He also led
negotiations on the minority stake investment of
Kansai Paints for KASB.
Prior to KASB, He worked at the
Financial Institutions Group at UBS Investment
Banking, New York. He covered asset management
companies, banks, stock exchanges and specialty
finance companies- and was involved in M&A, IPO,
restructuring, equity and debt raising. His
transactions include the restructuring of the
Mexican Stock Exchange and minority stake sale of
Apollo Partners to sovereign wealth funds
He received his Masters in
Business Administration from IMD, Switzerland. He
has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from
Northwestern University, graduated Magna Cum Laude,
and is a candidate for CFA Level III. He has
attended various courses at prestigious institutions
including Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of
Management and Babson College. |

Muneer Kamal
Director
Muneer Kamal is the Deputy Chairman of KASB
Group and also The Chairman of Karachi Stock
Exchange.
Muneer Kamal joined the bank in November 2005 as
President & CEO of KASB Bank Limited.
Prior to this he held the positions of President
& CEO, Vice Chairman & COO (International) of
Union Bank Ltd., from August 1999 till November
2005. He was instrumental in all the
acquisitions done by Union Bank Ltd., i.e. Bank
of America, American Express Credit Cards,
Emirates Bank International and Mashreq Bank,
Sri Lanka.
He started his career at Citibank & served
locally and internationally on senior positions
Director, Head of Country Public Sector &
Financial Institutions from 1981 to 1994. After
this he joined Faysal Bank and was President &
CEO till 1999.
He is Director of National Industrial Parks,
Director, Member of Resource Committee of Aga
Khan University, Member of Institute of Business
Administration (IBA) Selection Board Committee
and on the Board of Governors – Member KASBIT.
He is
an MBA from the Institute of Business
Administration.

Syed Wamiq Abrar Bokhari
Director
Syed Wamiq Bokhari co-founded NHEPL in 2006 with
support from KASB Group. He has worked on various
projects in 22 countries and across five
continents. He attained his Bachelors and Masters
degrees in Petroleum Engineering from University of
Texas. He has attended several technical and
management courses, including advance management
course at Oxford. Wamiq is a registered Professional
Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, USA.
Wamiq started his career with US based ARCO
(Atlantic Richfield Company) in US, working with
them in the Gulf of Mexico, Permian Basin, Alaska,
South America, Yemen, North Sea and Far East. At
ARCO he worked in Operations, Projects, Reservoir
Engineering and New Ventures. His last assignment
for ARCO was as New Development Team Leader for
Southern North Sea, where his team completed the Waveney project in a record time from discovery to
first gas.
Wamiq later joined LASMO (later acquired by Eni)
and served as the Operations Manager in Pakistan,
and was involved extensively with the green field
developments of Bhit, Zamzama, Miano and Sawan
fields. He later moved to Nigeria to head Eni’s
Partner Operated Business Unit that was responsible
for an annual net budget of US$ 250 million and net
production of around 100,000 BOEPD. In Nigeria he
was involved with several giant projects including
the world’s largest FPSO (Floating Production,
Storage & Offloading facility) development that was
located in deepwater. Lately, he was assisting
Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Company (KUFPEC) in
managing the Exploration & Production activities in
the Far East & Australia Region that is almost
entirely offshore and included several green field
projects.
Wamiq has acquired broad based industry knowledge
(technical & managerial) through a life time of
Exploration & Production work. In addition, he has
established credibility with several multinationals
and has a vast professional network in the
international as well as regional petroleum sector.
Wamiq served as Chairman of Pakistan Association
of Petroleum Geoscientist, an affiliation of AAPG,
from 2008 to 2010. He also served on the Board of
“Pakistan Petroleum E&P Companies Association” (PPEPCA)
from 2007 to 2010. Wamiq has also served on the
Board of Society of Petroleum Engineers Pakistan and
has authored several technical papers. As the
conference Chairman, he organized the first ever Oil
& Gas show in Pakistan in 2002 which was very
successful attracting several international
companies despite the environment generated by 11th
September 2001 event. He has also served on the
Boards of KASB Securities Company, Karachi American
School and Safi Qureshey Foundation. |
